Physicist Engineer Diploma (1993-1998)

This page presents the program I have followed to qualify for the physicist engineer diploma of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology. It comprises 8 semesters, which ideally mix theoretical and practical parts, and one semester fully devoted to a practical diploma work.

Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne

The Swiss Federal Institute Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL : École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne) is located on the borders of the Lake Geneva in the Vaud canton. At a glance the EPFL is : more than 9000 people (over 5800 students and 1000 Ph.D) and a global budget is 537 millions of swiss francs. The EPFL offers 13 complete study courses in Engineering, Basic Science and Architecture.

Followed courses for the physics diploma

The descriptions proposed hereafter are extracted from the 2003 courses booklet from the physics section. Compared to the courses followed during the years 1993-1998, it may appear some discrepencies in the course designation and contents. The courses selection presented here for the semesters 7 and 8 corresponds to a personnal choice, as the physics section do not impose any course.
